Your Go-To Bach Planning Guide
Have a bachelorette to plan? Nowadays it’s basically a part time job (unpaid..ew). But don’t fret, we’ve got you covered with our best tips, locations, and inspo to ensure you plan the bach party of your bestie's dreams!
Let’s start off with the basics, to plan or not to plan?
It’s important to know how much time and effort you’re able to give to planning this bachelorette because let’s face it the girlies are booked and busy. If you are already stretched thin, consider hiring a bach party planner.
Planners can help find Airbnbs, decorations to match your theme, activities, the best bars, and even set up your party before you arrive including stocking your favorite food and drinks. They’re basically your fairy godmother, if she came equipped with tequila and pen*s straws.
Deciding to go ahead and plan it yourself? First off, you’re a superstar. We commend you. We have taken the guesswork out and created a checklist to make sure you have all your bases covered. Looking for inspiration? Check out our bachelorette inspo blog!
What to do…what to do…
Your bachelorette will be centered around activities and/or excursions, making this one of the most important steps in the process. Deep breaths babe, we got you covered here as well.
✦ First things first, get your main event activities planned. You can plan smaller activities around these after. Not sure where to start? Searching “things to do” in the city you’re going to be in will result in blogs of bridesmaids past that detail activities to do in the area. This is a great way to find feedback from past parties and decide if they are the right activities for your squad.
✦ Once you decide on activities, you can create a list of items needed for each event and book any travel accommodations if needed. If you are renting a boat, you can’t go wrong with matching koozies to keep your drinks cold in the sun. Playing drinking games? Better make sure solo cups, pong balls, and folding tables are on your list! Going wine tasting? Rent a party bus to take you vineyard to vineyard in style.
✦ Deciding what meals will be at the house vs out to eat is also important. This will help you create a grocery list as well as a packing list. Personally, we are huge fans of brunch at home with mimosa bars and build your own waffles! When you decide where and when you plan to go out to eat, make reservations. There is nothing worse than being stuck waiting for a table when you could be consuming tequila shots and truffle fries, talk about a buzzkill.
Airbnbs, Verbos, and Hotels…oh my!
Once you have a headcount and a location locked in, get those accommodations booked baby! Things fill up fast and the longer you wait, the less options you’ll have and the more money you’ll be shelling out – no bueno.
✦ It’s important to note the dynamics of the group. Knowing if people are comfortable sharing beds or if there should be a bed for each individual will impact the size needed for the stay. Also, consider the amount of bathrooms because let's be real, it's going to be a chaotic mess when it’s time to get ready, shower, and fight your hangovers.
✦ Another thing to consider is the light and mirrors. Be honest with yourself, is this a group full of selfie and content queens? Better make sure you have some nice lighting and an aesthetic place to stay (don’t roll your eyes, we know this is important to some of you..) Mirrors also are important if you have a large group getting ready, fighting for that one bathroom mirror is not the vibe. So either bring your own extra mirrors or book accommodations with plenty of get ready
Money, Drama, Moodboards
✦ Money is never fun to discuss and can sometimes lead to disagreements. To avoid this, be up front with costs and keep your girlies in the loop as much as possible. Using anonymous surveys can help you get an idea of everyone’s budget and restrictions. Downloading splitwise makes splitting costs easy and allows everyone to venmo straight from the app, so you don’t have to send those awkward “can you pay me” texts.
✦ Leave the drama to Real Housewives and keep your gang at peace by making sure everyone is in the know of costs, location, activities, responsibilities, etc. The group chat will be your BFF over the next few months. Make sure people know they can come to you with any concerns to avoid any conflicts or issues when the party starts.
✦ Planning for a bride who has a love for all things aesthetically pleasing? Better get those outfit inspo boards ready. Make sure you have an idea of the dress code for each event/activity to share with the group. This will make packing easy, alleviate stressful “what should I pack for...” texts, and ensure an aesthetic group pic for socials. Check out our Pinterest for all the inspo!
